“Kaitlin Daur - an absolute rock in my life recovering from injury, not to mention one of the best PTs this planet has seen. I could write a book to describe why this is, but let me give you the short story below.
In October of 2022 I had a mountain biking accident, narrowly escaping death in the Squamish backcountry. I broke my back in 5 places which left me with severe chronic pain all over my body and incessant spinal nerve spasms.
I battled with my own recovery for 6 months before deciding I needed help. I could walk again, I could work, and I could exercise lightly - but that was about it. I’d given up on a future in Freeride skiing, and figured I’d just be happy if I could still walk at the age of 60.
Kaitlin started strength training me once or twice a week, and I’d visit the gym once more a week myself to practice. We started from the ground zero - touching my toes, rotating my neck, supporting myself on hands and knees, etc. Some days I came in with so much pain I couldn’t stand up, and Kaitlin would just know exactly what to do.
In just 9 months, I have not only reached, but surpassed the level of physical ability I was at before the injury. I am back at work as a fine dining chef, and a normal week means 60 hours of work, 15 hours of skiing, and 4 hours of gym. I’ve already been back to tick off the mountain bike trail that threw me off. My skiing is better than ever - for those that know Whistler well, I also sent it off Air Jordan recently.
Kaitlin has given me back my life, and I can’t even begin to express how lucky I am that I chose to train with her. The least I can do is share my story here so that you might choose to train with her as well!”
