“I began my weight training/strength-building journey with Kaitlin when I hit 60 and realized I was heading for physical trouble after years hunched over and toiling at a desk for incredibly long hours daily, combined with the pressure of constant deadlines plus an emotionally-fraught period of caring for a loved one struggling through end-of-life, after which came the pandemic years and some other big family health scares. I had knee pain and feet and posture issues, little strength, couldn’t squat properly, and was developing balance/proprioception problems.

I was feeling pretty bleak about aging as a woman in general.

I started regular fitness classes but remained intimidated by the weights section of the gym, yet really wanted to build strength and muscle through a program of progressive overload.

I was so fortunate to find Kaitlin through her Babes & Barbells course which introduced this complete newbie to heavy weights and proper technique in a comfortable/safe environment. After the course I started some one-on-one personal sessions with Kaitlin, gaining confidence in the gym, then moved to her on-line program while I built my own home gym.

It’s not an exaggeration to say her coaching has changed my life.

Number one, I trust her. Her background and attention to form and detail has kept me from injury while strengthening my weak areas. She’s incredibly professional and responsive.

My strength has improved by leaps and bounds and continues to do so.

She met me where I was at and has helped me navigate continued stresses and time constraints in my life by teaching me how to tailor my workouts and give myself grace when I need to, yet to keep pushing and growing where I can. This in turn has changed my inner dialogue with my own body.

It has fostered a gratitude for what my body can do for me now. And it has overhauled my relationship to nutrition and fuelling myself properly.

This old gal can now do full unassisted chin ups and push ups and carry some serious weight. (I don’t think I’ve ever been able to do chin ups in my life.) I remain psyched to see where I can go from here.

Thanks Kaitlin!”
